As you might have noticed a lot of my photographs have a graphic approach. It might be my background as a graduate of illustration of St. Martins School of Art in London which is responsible for this.
In the late 70s I started working in the graphic industry retouching and post production analogue and later became a director and co-owner of the largest professional colour laboratory in Germany.
Around 1986 I and a few others moved into digital creation of images and we became pioneers of digital post processing.
Today I have six agents worldwide representing my work and searching for new challenges.
For roughly 28 years I’ve been working as a professional photographer and image maker, mainly for clients in the automotive industry, e.g. Nissan, Mazda, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Bentley but also for consumer goods, travel and various other areas as e.g. Nintendo, Schwarzkopf or Loreal.
You’ll find a more comprehensive overview of my work on nw-5.com.
My other passion is professional workflow and the use and development of hardware and software, which has prompted me to start giving seminars and workshops to pros and semi-pros.
You have a fairly good chance to see some of my presentations on the web.
I try using the best tools for my work – this doesn’t necessarily mean the most expensive ones – I work closely with companies like Adobe, Apple, HP, Nik Software, Wacom, Hensel, X-rite and Nikon as an Alfa and Beta tester.
Beside this I have my own art project called laboratorium, where I try to find a special approach to people photography shooting sub cultures in Europe.
To me one of the most important parts of the way I work is to control the complete workflow, from the very first idea and the shoot to digital image creation and final print.
